one of the most exciting debuts of fashion week 2010 was presented tonight: alexa chung for Madewell! i want everything...sigh. i love how all the pieces are like polished versions of stuff i already own and currently obsessed with-anything starting with the letter P: pleats, polka dots, peter pan collars, private school girl cardigans

AND private school girl tights and socks.

which makes it extra easy to be inspired by the same sensibility as chung who is such a fashion darling everything she does is a do. however, i am heart broken singer.com called me today to let me know my order of the jeffrey campell clogs has been cancelled due to no stock available. i even missed out on the pre order. but alas, the heart ache was all for a good reason as i can now be on the hunt for the clogs featured in alexa's spread above. i actually had my little valentines dress on with grey tights and just changed into the sheer black ones for my pics at the post below and i also bought a men's inspired belt yesterday at uniqlo as the hubs said the dress was missing something...i get you alexa, i totally get you

the hubs took me on an early valentines date. we like to celebrate valentines either the day before or the day after. from experience, here and in sydney valentines prefix dinners almost always suck. we went to one of our fave japanese ramen haunts Ippudo. mind blowing as per usual

they do tapas style for brunch, so they are small servings. every small morsel was to die for. above is the kobe beef burger and sausage biscuit with gravy served with chips and we also got these unbelievable french onion soup dumplings, a BLT with avocado and red chile mayo, potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce and i had a pomegranate peach bellini to wash it all down
